Thecus N4200

5/5 fr 59 Hardware
"Au final, ce NAS Thecus N4200 apparaît comme un très bon produit 4 baies. L'ensemble est bon et très homogène : un boîtier bien fini, une architecture propre, un processeur reconnu et utilisé par les meilleurs sur le marché pour des performances tout à fait à la hauteur. On retiendra cependant deux éléments qui sortent du lot : l'IHM d'une part et le bloc d'alimentation d'autre part. "

"Thecus N4200 is a fast and reliable storage and backup server for small-business environments. However, its lack of some advanced features, its high learning curve, and the relatively high price might turn away those who want to get the most out of a NAS server."

"Overall Thecus has done a bang-up job with the N4200 with a Battery Backup Module and Dual DOMs to prevent data loss when a failure occurs in the hardware, software or power. This is an awesome new feature and is like having a power backup without having to plug it into one. Excellent Job Thecus, this is a great product that warrants an Editors Choice. "

"As a result of lofty pricing, don't ignore the Thecus N4200, which runs about $200 less than the QNAP and still offers reliably high data transfer rates. In addition, the Thecus N4200 comes with the replaceable battery. This can be useful, especially in home networks, where the NAS device may be connected to a switchable power strip. "

"If you can't afford a dedicated UPS, the backup battery module could well sell the Thecus N4200 all by itself. And if that's not persuasion enough the nippy performance provided by the dual-core Atom D510 CPU, or the large number of USB and eSATA ports might be.. "

5/5 en Tweak News
"After a week of putting this NAS to the test, I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a secure and dependable way to store and share out files. The included documentation is fairly thorough, but installation might be a bit overwhelming for an absolute beginner. The Thecus website is a good resource for additional help as there are active support forums for all models of their products. "

5/5 en TweakTown
"At first glance the Thecus N4200 might appear to be just an upgrade to a nicer setup display, but once you start peeling back the layers you find that this NAS appliance is more than just a pretty face. The addition of a battery backup module in my mind will be much more beneficial in the long run, giving users peace of mind, all the time. "
