Synology DS411+
BigBruin"If you are going to invest over $800 in a NAS, you want to make sure it will be in service for years to come. In saying that, Synology updates the firmware frequently, and the DS411+ is ensured to have updates for two years as that is the length of the standard warranty."

Hexus"Performance during our benchmarks proved to be decidedly average, and if speed is your primary concern, rival manufacturers offer quicker four-bay alternatives at around the same price."

Legion Hardware"The Synology DS411+ is one of the most powerful Atom based NAS devices we have come across, the Intel Atom D510 seems perfectly suited for this kind of use. Given the specifications, the DS411+ performed as anticipated and proved to be a great quality product that we can highly recommend to anyone looking at a four bay NAS device for the home or small office. Reg Hardware"While there may be speedier Nas boxes out there, Synology’s DiskStation product line is miles ahead of the curve thanks to the features of DiskStation Manager 3.0. It's just a pity the physical styling doesn't follow suit. Still, if you’re looking for a four bay Nas box with a multitude of features and an impressive performance to boot, then the DS411+ is certainly worth considering"

Slashgear"In all, we’re highly impressed with the Synology DiskStation DS411+. Not only does it get within spitting distance of its quoted specifications, it has the backup and multimedia flexibility to suit both home and small-business users. While we’d like to have seen a more accessible chassis, and the front panel could benefit from a status display, there’s no arguing with the NAS’ performance. At $650 for the barebones drive it’s not cheap, but if you need reliable, consistent speed then it’s at the top of the pile"

SmallNetBuilder"The DS411+ is a four-bay dual-core Atom (D510) for folks looking for a damn fast RAID 5 / 10 NAS and aren't interested in frills like hot-swappable drives, dual LAN ports and the ability to add Synology's DX510 eSATA expansion cabinet."

Tweak News"As I said before, I'm disappointed by the lack of a front USB port. With only two USB ports on the back of the unit, external device options are somewhat limited (although there is an eSATA port for connecting a hard drive) . This won't be an issue for all users but I felt that it was worth noting. Also, since the inside of the unit must be accessed from the rear, hot-swapping could also be a little cumbersome. I would have preferred a front-accessible unit. "
