OCZ Technology RevoDrive - 120 Go

4/5 en Benchmark Reviews
"The RevoDrive SSD will be a good fit for extreme-performance hardware enthusiasts who desire the fastest speeds and best operational performance, with some limited sever use. While I will always maintain that RAID-0 is not fit for business environments (even with routine backups), there are still a few very good situations where a PCI-Express SSD like the RevoDrive could be a good fit: virtual machine server, remote-access application server, high-transaction database server, and extreme-traffic web server... none of which should be production level without redundant safe guards. "While the Revo does deliver those huge read and write speeds, there’s only a small improvement in real-world speed; even this came as a surprise considering our past disappointments with RAID. Not only does having two drives not equate to twice as much performance, but it also leads to more than a doubling in price. "

"We like this product series very much. It does need a few tweaks before we can intensely recommend it, but the product as it is right now, is already very sexy. If you run your OS and applications on this, you have no idea what is coming at you on terms of speed and load times, awesome stuff."

"The OCZ RevoDrive is without doubt the best SSD we have tested. Buying a RevoDrive should be the number one priority for anyone looking to buy a mid to high end SSD at the moment."

"We'd recommend the RevoDrive to anyone looking for top-notch performance. The Revo has set a new bar for both SSDs and RAID-based PCI-Express storage cards. We look forward to seeing how the rest of the industry responds. "

"OCZ has really outdone themselves as the RevoDrive is probably the best bang-for-your-buck SSD purchase you can make right now. The only piece that may worry consumers is the lack of TRIM and idle garbage collection support but that may be remedied by OCZ in the future and the Sandforce controller has shown itself to be very resilient and adept at drive maintenance."

"Given the lack of Trim and the fact that most home use doesn’t require high queue-depth performance, most people should go for a single SATA SandForce drive. A price drop and Trim support, though, could turn this from a decent and intriguing product to a must-have."

4/5 en Silent PC Review
"The OCZ RevoDrive 120GB is an incredibly fast drive, but with a street price of about US$270, it has one of the worst performance to dollar ratios in the business, representing a classic case of diminishing returns — you're paying a lot more for a marginal improvement."

"With Revo models expected to begin at 50GB and 80GB, affordable, truly high-performance SSDs will no longer require trips to the hospital or expensive surgery to acquire. OCZ will be launching the Revo within the next few months, and as with all OCZ SandForce SSDs, the Revo will carry a 3 year warranty. All we can say is, we can't wait!"

"Until the next wave of controllers and NAND flash arrive, as they inevitably will, OCZ's RevoDrive simply is the most affordable solid-state drive featuring two SandForce SF-1200 drives in RAID 0, and by far the best performing SSD we have tested to date. After making short work of our tests we can easily recommend OCZ's RevoDrive if seeking one of the fastest and more affordable solid-state drive configurations currently available on the market."

"CZ did their homework in producing a RAID0 SSD that reaches the top performance that consumers demand and then encorporated the SandForce SF-1200 series processor which was a stroke of genius."

"OCZ couldn’t have picked a better SSD controller to use in RAID since the SandForce SF-1200 has the lowest performance degradation of all the SSDs we have ever tested. This comes from the propriety Durawrite system and the drives onboard garbage collection that is by far the best we have seen. Even after we hammered the RevoDrive on all three configurations, the performance remained within a couple of percent of the original numbers. This is something that wasn’t possible with our RAID tests on the Crucial C300 or any Indilinx BareFoot RAID tests. "
