"Overall I'm extremely pleased with the second generation Kingston SSDNow V Series 128GB drive. As mentioned previously, Kingston has priced their V Series drives to be extremely affordable relative to the overall SSD market. In fact just looking at Newegg, the Kingston SSDNow V Series drives are actually the most inexpensive models listed for each capacity group! As with most SSDs, Kingston offers a 3-year warranty."

"In fact, when focusing on real-world performance the Kingston SSDNow V Series SNV425-S2 128GB performed very well, providing very strong transfer rates in our file copying tests, along with excellent application loading performance. Having used the 64GB model for a few months now in my personal computer, I can confirm first hand the excellent real world performance of these drives. "

"Kingston has really put the pressure on the other SSD manufacturers with their 128GB SSDNow V Series drive. With solid performance for an entry-level drive and $2/GB pricing that even SSD upgrade holdouts will find hard to resist, I have a feeling retailers will have a hard time keeping these drives on the shelves."

"The end result of the testing is that the SNV425-S2BD-128GB drive delivered some pretty impressive numbers when it came to the read scores. The write scoring was up and down - depending on the test - but putting that in perspective, it is worlds ahead of a traditional spinning disk drive when it comes to performance. "

"Kingston have finally settled on a product that is true to the (V)alue portion of that name."

"The short version is the SNV425-S2 cannot compete with the Indilinx-based SSDs. However, that's not to say this drive isn't fast, because it is. Will you notice the difference? Perhaps, perhaps not. But the reality is that compared to your traditional hard drive, this SSD is stinking fast. On a more detailed look, the sequential read and write speeds are excellent, almost as fast as the competitors. The small file, random writes, however, are where the performance here takes a hit. And this is why the cheaper price. There's a very good reason why the Indilinx drives cost a small fortune and that's a good part of it. "

"There Kingston SNV425 has the unpleasant honor of delivering borderline performance and only acceptable responsiveness, often delivering the lowest performance we've seen from an SSD in our charts."

"The new generation of the Kingston SSDNow V series of SSD drives provides a nice performance improvement over the first generation, and of course TRIM support is a welcome addition."

"The Kingston SSDNow V Series is the value product form the company and sometimes it is easy to forget that when looking at the benchmark results. These drives were never meant to run in servers or for that matter enthusiasts / power users systems. The performance just isn’t available from the JMicron controller to deliver that level of performance. The Kingston SSDNow V Series is designed for entry level operation, business notebook users and those not looking to spend a bunch of money on an SSD. "
