OCZ Technology - Vertex 2 - 60 Go

After being so thoroughly impressed by the original Vertex 60GB just a few short months ago, it was hard to imagine that we'd be similarly impressed by any follow-up to that drive, but thanks to its SandForce controller and a price point which matches its predecessor, we've fallen even more deeply in love with the 60GB Vertex 2.

Certainly the OCZ Vertex 2 is a series we would recommend if you are interested in a high-performance SSD at a moderate price.

The overall performance of the OCZ Vertex 2 60Gb SSD is pretty good, when compared with other SSDs on the market. It offers good write speeds, but falls slightly behind during our read speed tests. Although the price is pretty attractive, the low storage capacity of 60Gb is, in my opinion a real limiting factor. Having said that, it's probably ideal for users who are on a tight budget, but wanting a fast boot drive.
